兽工官名。主管以野兽皮革制作器物。一说殷代置。周代属司空，分函人、鲍人、
人、韦人、裘人。《礼记·曲礼下》：“天子之六工，曰土工、金工、石工、木工、兽工、草工。”郑玄注：“此亦殷时制也。周则皆属司空”，“兽工，函、鲍、、韦、裘也”。孔颖达疏：“兽工，函、鲍、、韦、裘者，此物并用兽皮，故曰兽工。”- 非庵
